Jianguo (Jango) is a third-year Chemistry student at Oriel College, Oxford, with a growing interest in finance. His journey began after high school, when he opened a personal trading account in an ambitious attempt to turn pocket money into a hedge fund (spoiler: it didn’t work). Keen to build a stronger foundation, he joined the MT24 bootcamp, where he deepened his understanding of financial markets and investment thinking. While chemistry remains his academic focus, he is drawn to the analytical and problem-solving challenges that finance offers. Outside of work, he rows, runs, and socialises—sometimes all in the same day, with mixed results.

Ryan is a second-year Economics and Management student at Harris Manchester College. His interest in investing began when he opened a brokerage account during the meme stock bubble, which has since evolved into a keen enthusiasm for the treasure hunt of under-appreciated companies and extensive reading about a broad range of industries. Outside of finance, he enjoys playing baseball (go Dodgers!), cafe-hopping, and planning his next holiday.

Evie is a second-year Economics and Management student at Christ Church. She first became interested in finance while studying A-Level Economics, enjoying the interplay between the macro and micro-economy, and financial markets. Insight programs, speaker events and OAF have contributed massively to furthering her passion for finance. She loves traveling and in her spare time enjoys reading, swimming, and playing hockey. 

Tian is a second-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at Lady Margaret Hall. Her interest in finance was sparked by a family friend who described her job as a dynamic challenge—one that required staying current with global developments to gauge their impact on the stock market. Intrigued by this blend of intellectual rigor and real-world application, Tian began exploring a career in the sector. Outside of her studies, she enjoys netball, music, film photography, and reading.

Rohan is a second-year Economics & Management student at Harris Manchester College. His interest in public markets stems from an appreciation for storytelling and the art of crafting and interpreting narratives around equities. He is particularly drawn to the inherent competitive aspect of uncovering an edge by fundamentally studying companies through perspectives that are both creative and grounded. Outside of investing, he enjoys reading history and literature, writing in his spare time, and going for runs.

Sam is a second-year Economics and Management student at Brasenose College, from Sydney. He became interested in investing after reading a book about investing during the financial crisis in early high school and opened my own personal account. He is a bit of a serial entrepreneur, having started several businesses both in Australia and the UK and is always thinking of the next big idea. He also enjoys diving deep into info about companies with a founder's perspective, understanding what they do and how they stand out from the market. He loves martial arts, having done Jiu Jitsu for 15+ years, and misses the beaches while in Oxford :( 

Irvin is a second-year Economics and Management student at Keble College. He initially gained interest in finance after reading about the Gamestop saga. After hearing about OAF from seniors, he joined the OAF bootcamp in MT’24 to learn more about investing. Outside of finance, Irvin is also part of the varsity badminton team and enjoys eating and watching dramas.

Shao is a third-year Mathematics and Computer Science student at Christ Church. He has always had a passion for mathematics and modelling. Joining the OAF Quant Bootcamp brought him into the quantitative side of finance where mathematical tools could be directly applied to the real world. His interest in game theory has also led him to appreciate the myriad games of strategy and information that are played out in financial markets.  He also enjoys hiking, running, and biking to explore new places. His weekends are best spent gallivanting around the countryside on his trusty cycle. He also enjoys stargazing on the rare clear nights in Oxford.

Russell is a third-year Classics student at Christ Church. He first got interested in investing at the age of 12 after reading the works of Peter Lynch and Ben Graham, which opened his eyes to the joys of buying a dollar for 50 cents. He loves learning about different businesses and solving complex puzzles, all the while doing something rewarding and meaningful. He spends the rest of the time reading about the great figures of history, travelling, admiring art, and playing the trumpet.

Alden is a first-year Economics & Management student at St Peter’s College, Oxford. His interest in finance was sparked by the writings of Benjamin Graham and Warren Buffett, whose pursuit of consistently outperforming the market continues to inspire him and has become a lifelong ambition. Outside of finance, he enjoys playing poker and skydiving.

Borong is a first-year Physics student at Balliol College. He is interested in physics and mathematical methods, using a wide range of models to solve practical problems—whether in physics or in quantitative finance. Exploring derivatives such as options and futures has introduced him to stochastic calculus and option pricing, and he’s obsessed with using arbitrage and hedging theories to find order in volatile markets. This year, as part of the OAF General Committee, he plans to become more proactive by socialising more, gaining more industry experience, and contributing to the warm and lovely OAF family :)

Chase Fellows is a first-year PPE student at The Queen’s College, Oxford. His interest in finance began after reading about the ways investing has shaped U.S. history. He is drawn to the way narratives lead to value dislocation in public markets. Inspired to build stronger fundamental analysis skills, he joined the MT25 bootcamp, where he learned to apply quantitative valuation methods to holistic theses. Outside of his studies he enjoys playing American football, reading, and backpacking.

He spends most of his time in his room, either catching up on work (or sleep) or figuring out how best to waste his free time. Outside of OAF, Euan enjoys watching football and basketball, and go-karts from time to time.

I'm Eleanor, a 1st year PPE-ist at Balliol College. My interest in finance first grew out of my sewing hobby, as I started to see how the creative side of fashion intersected with the industry’s financial dynamics.

Harik is a first year Engineering student at Christ Church. His interest in Finance was sparked by literally every STEM competition being sponsored by quant firms, which sparked their curiosity and led them down a rabbit hole that they have not looked back from. He joined the MT25 bootcamp and thus joined OAF. Outside of finance, he enjoys a large variety of sports (too many to list)

His passion for strategy, having grown up playing games like chess and bridge, led him to develop an interest in financial markets and trading. He developed a keen interest in finance while studying economics, becoming particularly interested in how markets respond to certain events. Keen to explore this further, he participated in the Oxford Alpha Fund bootcamp, where he built a strong foundation in fundamental investing. Now, as an analyst within the fund, he especially enjoys applying rigorous research and abstract thinking to develop investment opportunities. Outside of finance, he is a devoted Arsenal fan, loves playing poker (with 910s as his favourite hand), and plays tennis.

Joseph is a first-year PPE student at Pembroke College, Oxford. Having studied in China, Singapore and now the UK, he has developed a keen interest in the global economy and how macro cycles fuel equity booms and busts. His investing journey began in 2022 with NVDA, TSLA and PLTR near the lows, though market volatility tested his conviction and pushed him out too early. That regret sparked a deeper commitment to fundamental analysis, leading him to join OAF as an analyst in HT26. Beyond finance, he is a competitive chess player, aspiring wine connoisseur, and unapologetic hip-hop enthusiast.

Kalman is a first-year Biochemistry student at Hertford College, Oxford. Growing up in Hong Kong fostered an early curiosity about how global developments are reflected in financial markets. He further developed this interest through the MT25 Bootcamp, gaining a deeper understanding of market dynamics and investment thinking. While his academic work focuses on the forces governing molecular systems, he strives to apply the same analytical rigour to understanding the forces that drive real-world economic outcomes. Outside of his studies, he enjoys playing badminton, rowing, photography, and escaping to the mountains to ski and snowboard.

Hui En is a first-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at Oriel College. Her interest in finance developed gradually from a curiosity about how global events influence markets, prompting her to follow financial news and engage more actively with investing. Outside of finance and her academics, she enjoys playing the guitar, speedrunning geography quizzes, trying new candy (open to recommendations!) and exploring the Asian supermarkets in Oxford.

Lydia is a 1st year mathematics student at Jesus College. Her interest in markets began in school and she has been investing for six years. During high school, she independently studied foundational concepts in quantitative finance and after graduating, published a paper on option pricing. To continue expanding her knowledge and experience, she joined the MT25 quant bootcamp and is now an OAF analyst. As a problem solver with a passion for applied mathematics, Lydia enjoys using quantitative techniques to form investment strategies and generate ideas. Outside of finance, she plays golf and tennis, and also enjoys skiing and traveling.

Nick is a First year Maths student at Jesus College. He has been an active investor in the financial markets ever since he was 15. He combined his interest in mathematics, computer science and the market in the OAF quant Bootcamp MT’25 to dive deeper into the quantitative side of finance. Outside of OAF, Nick is a big poker player, dreaming to win a WSOP gold bracelet one day.

Richard is a first-year Earth Sciences student at Exeter. His interest in markets stems from a broader fascination with natural resources and their role in global economies, and he enjoys applying scientific thinking to fundamental equity analysis. Outside of investing, he rows and runs, plays the saxophone, and enjoys spending time in nature.

Rohan is a first-year PPE student at Brasenose College. He started his investing journey with Alpha Fund and finds the process of getting to know a company in extensive detail extremely rewarding. In his spare time he loves to read, watch movies, or listen to music.

Sean is a first-year Mathematics and Computer Science student at Balliol College. After completing an internship in equity derivatives, he developed a strong interest in public equities and began actively following global financial markets. Joining OAF as an Analyst in MT25, he enjoys the rigour of stock pitching, particularly the combination of fundamental analysis, market psychology, and financial modelling. Outside of finance, he can usually be found behind a camera, exploring new restaurants, playing sports, or having a good game of poker!

Vinamr is a second-year Engineering student at Harris Manchester College, drawn to the logic of mathematics and the satisfaction of making things work (eventually). He enjoys solving problems that are difficult, technical, and occasionally seem personally offended by his attempts to solve them, a trait that translates surprisingly well to financial markets.

His interest in investing grew from a curiosity about how great ideas become great companies, and into a respect for how efficiently markets punish overconfidence. Outside of academics, he enjoys ambitious projects and optimistically telling himself that next term will be perfectly organised.

Weifeng is a first-year Physics student at Pembroke College. Drawn to the parallels between mathematical theory and financial markets, he became interested in how quantitative frameworks extend beyond the natural sciences. Keen to learn more, he joined the OAF Quant Bootcamp, where he strengthened his understanding of how mathematical and statistical tools can be applied to finance. Yubo is a first year student studying Philosophy, Politics and Economics at Balliol College. He first discovered a deep interest in public markets studying his favourite brands and their economic moats. In particular, Yubo is fascinated by the concept of alpha generation, and is excited to leverage his analytical background to apply his creative personality as a competitive edge. Outside of school, Yubo dabbles in many things from painting, rock climbing and football, to satellite image sleuthing- Jack of all trades, and increasingly a master of some.

Besides being involved in the world of finance, Rayner is also an avid chess player with a Chess.com rating of 2000. Andrew (Andy) is a Philosophy, Politics and Economics student. His interest in finance began during the pandemic, when he became an avid viewer of CNBC and developed a curiosity about markets and investing. Keen to build a stronger technical foundation, he joined the OAF Bootcamp in MT’25, where he deepened his understanding of valuation and investment analysis. He hopes to build a career in the industry and continue developing his understanding of financial markets and corporate strategy. Outside of finance, he enjoys playing football, travelling, and spending time with friends.

Benwei is a first-year Philosophy, Politics and Economics student at St. Peter's College. His interest in finance began from starting a business writing custom poetry for events and companies, and then daydreaming about if it incrementally grew to a poetry megaconglomerate the kind of financial instruments and management strategies that could be applied to maintain the moat / outperform competition / grow market share. Outside academics and finance, he enjoys quality time with friends and family, appreciating architecture/interiors/graphic design, and simple, elegant, beautiful math problems.

What began as curiosity about who owned her favourite chocolate brands evolved into a fascination with consumer stocks and the factors driving their valuations. After visiting Nasdaq and witnessing the buzz of an IPO, finance became tangible and exciting. Keen to deepen her understanding, she joined the MT’25 Bootcamp, gaining exposure to stock pitching and the wider world of finance. In her spare time, she enjoys running, discovering new dessert spots (especially if they serve white chocolate), and reading.

His interest in markets began unexpectedly through trading cosmetics on Steam’s CS2 marketplace, where he became fascinated by liquidity dynamics and predictable demand patterns in digital asset prices. This curiosity developed into a deeper intellectual pursuit after joining the MT25 Quant Bootcamp, where he was exposed to systematic investing and probabilistic decision-making under uncertainty. Outside of finance, he enjoys cycling (with an arguably excessive number of carbon bikes), powerlifting, and working on digital effects and 3D modelling.

Her interest in finance started when she got her first job and wanted to figure out what to do with her savings. She began by reading about investing and ETFs, which led to a broader interest in financial markets and learning how to pick stocks herself. She particularly enjoys creating mathematical models to test and refine her qualitative arguments. Outside of academics, Elena enjoys photography, backpacking, and cycling.

He is passionate about fundamental investing in quality compounders over the long term, with his own concentrated portfolio and always happy to talk about equities and businesses. He initially joined OAF to find like-minded people and to stop boring his family members with all things investing. Outside of OAF and his degree, Harvey loves cricket, tennis, football (basically any sport), swimming, chess, and tailoring, as well as having a bad habit of binging great shows in less than a week.

He first became interested in financial markets when reading about behavioural economics, intrigued by examples of markets getting things completely wrong. Justin is a first-year Economics and Management student at Pembroke College from Malaysia. He became interested in finance after watching The Big Short, where he was captivated by how a few investors were willing to challenge consensus views through careful analysis and independent thinking, and were ultimately rewarded for their conviction. Since then, he has deepened his understanding of financial markets and investing through the MT25 bootcamp and stock pitch competitions. Outside academics, he enjoys travelling to new places, cooking, spending time with friends, and playing and watching Counter-Strike.

Kee Kwan Liu is a second-year DPhil student in Engineering Science, researching at the intersection of optimisation, machine learning, and fluid mechanics. Alongside his academic work, he is particularly interested in bringing algorithmic thinking and quantitative methods into the world of finance, where models and data-driven decision-making play a central role. He is especially drawn to how advances in optimisation and machine learning can be translated into robust, scalable financial applications. Outside of academia and finance, Kee Kwan enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures.

Loretta is a first-year Mathematics student at Exeter College. She was initially drawn to finance after volunteering to teach financial literacy and entrepreneurship to migrant workers, which led to deeper explorations of financial instruments, markets, and institutions. With an inclination towards quantitative disciplines, she finds interest in bridging analysis of strategies and macro environments with quantitative metrics and methods to assess value and risk. Outside of finance, she enjoys crafts, playing the violin, and throwing herself into something entirely new from time to time.

Milo is a first-year English student at New College, with a passion for investing which stems from a fascination with statistics and a tendency for contrarianism. His investment instincts were born out of his longstanding viewership of Dragons Den and a particular appreciation for the writing of Howard Marks'. In his spare time, he loves playing any probability-based game (Catan and Poker being all-time favourites), reading widely, and, above all, following devoutly his beloved Arsenal Football Club.

Hyunjun Lee (Robbie) is a first-year Economics and Management student at Harris Manchester College. His interest in investment began during his military service, where he became more closely involved with financial decision-making and developed a curiosity about capital allocation and markets. To formalise that interest, he joined the MT25 bootcamp to strengthen his technical understanding of valuation and financial analysis.

Sakthi is a first-year Economics and Management student at Teddy Hall. His passion for the markets began during high school, after he attended a 2 week investing course covering the basics of valuation and having a differentiated view. His first ever stock pick was Apple, which he still owns! He enjoys following macro as well, and thinks keenly about how macro and company valuation intersect and shape market narratives. In his free time, he enjoys reading, playing cricket and staying fit.

Siru is a first-year Classics student at Exeter College. His interest in finance was sparked during GCSE Economics, taught by an ex-banker, and took form more seriously during the summer after A-Levels, when he gained a preliminary understanding of the industry through reading, Zoom calls with high school alumni, and internships. Joining OAF in MT25 as an analyst and bootcamp trainee, he has derived great enjoyment from tackling the multi-faceted and dynamic real-world challenges investing has to offer. Beyond finance, Siru plays badminton in the university team and enjoys reading literature, playing the guitar, and eating with friends.

He is fond of using options to express degenerate bets and is a strong proponent of always being long convexity. In his free time he tinkers with his trading algo that breaks down at least once per month, engages in copious amounts of music listening, tries not to play that much poker, and sometimes does his problem sheets.
